Whatis  "Auction Art"

Auction Art is a digital painting I create of an object and then sell it on Ebay.   The art hopefully adds value to the object, and the value of the object hopefully assures that your investment in my art holds it's own.  

In the process I visually rework existing objects.....like a musician might perform another artist's music.  In this case, the  images are my arrangements.   For lack of better terms I call this process "Grotz-ized" 

I call finished print  the "Item Edition" or "IE."  Subsequent copies will be available, but they will be numbered in the order they are printed. 

Objects and Art

I don't know why I decide to turn an object into "Auction Art." Maybe it is the shape, texture or lighting when I take the sales photo.  Whatever the reason,  once I decide to start playing with it,  it takes on a life of its own.   

This is what I am shooting for artistically 

1. Utility - The object  has some existing function or value.  
2. Ritual – I must continually make images of items to sell.
3. Audience -  people from all over the world see my art. 
4. The Times - My art reflects current techniques and  possibilities
